Track record

Seventeen years of decisions that carried a number.

Aureon is built on a career spent inside global automotive and industrial procurement — category management, advanced purchasing, global purchasing excellence, and full group procurement responsibility. Two of those organisations were listed automotive suppliers; the mandates stay under confidentiality, so they are not named here.

What transfers to a client is the method: how a category strategy is written, how a supplier is qualified, how an award is governed, and what a part should cost before anyone quotes it.

Industry

Materials. Components. Mobility.

We source, qualify and move physical goods — from raw polymer and metal through to finished components and complete vehicle programmes. The work is built on supplier audits, cost breakdowns and delivery commitments, not catalogues.

Seventeen years inside automotive procurement means we know where a supply chain actually breaks, and what a part should cost before anyone quotes it.

Advisory

Experience. Perspective. Execution.

Advisory at Aureon is not a deck. It is a mandate with a defined scope, a named owner and a handover date. We take positions on pricing, suppliers, market entry and operating structure — and then stay to implement them.

Expertise

Quality

Supplier quality and procurement, at one table.

Quality is not inspected in at the end. It is secured along the whole supply chain.

Aureon brings together two perspectives that rarely sit at the same table: the quality engineer who audits the process, and the purchaser who negotiates the contract. For suppliers to automotive OEMs and Tier 1 companies, in Germany and abroad, this means fewer surprises in audits, in the field and in negotiations.

Two experts. One mission.

Joint expertise in quality, procurement and successful market development.

Supplier quality and quality assurance

  • Process and system audits to VDA 6.3 and IATF 16949
  • Supplier development and quality governance
  • APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plan and gauge capability
  • Field failure analysis, 8D and root cause
  • German OEM and Tier 1 requirements (CSR) known from the inside

Purchasing and commercial

  • Seventeen years of purchasing in the automotive industry
  • Cost breakdowns, price negotiation, commercial terms
  • RFQ answers and supplier assessments seen from the buyer’s side
  • Supply chain and logistics risk across long distances
  • Warranty cost and long-term supply obligations

Seven modules, from the audit to the assembly line
01

Quality management and supplier development

Gap analysis against IATF 16949 and customer requirements, VDA 6.3 audits, action plans that hold.

02

VDA standards and customer requirements

Structured gap analysis and lasting implementation of the VDA standards that matter to your customers.

03

Field failures and warranty

Field failure analysis, NTF, 8D and root cause. Warranty cases, technical factor and cost negotiation.

04

Quality governance

Independent quality decisions under delivery pressure: responsibilities, escalation, release authority.

05

Supply chain quality

Protection of long supply chains, for example Asia to Europe: inspection before shipment, traceability, emergency plans.

06

Industrialization and assembly

From component supplier to module supplier: poka-yoke, end-of-line tests, traceability, ramp-up.

07

Customer escalation

On-site support in OEM and Tier 1 task forces: sorting, rework, fast analysis, lasting measures.

Fit for Future

Supply and warranty continue long after end of production.

Many suppliers stop planning at EOP. OEMs do not. Spare parts supply is typically required for around 15 years after end of production, and warranty terms are negotiated long before the first part ships. We make this part of your offer, not a surprise.

  • Spare parts and long-term supply
  • Last-time buy and end-of-life rules
  • Warranty terms and technical factor
  • Warranty and spare parts cost in the quotation
The buyer’s view

What OEM and Tier 1 buyers will ask you.

With a purchaser’s experience we know the questions before they are asked, and we prepare you with a question catalogue, an RFQ readiness check and a rehearsal of buyer conversations.

  • Cost breakdown and price mechanics
  • Incoterms, payment terms, tooling and IP
  • Supply security and safety stock
  • Evidence: IATF, PPAP, VDA 6.3, 8D
  • Capacity and ramp-up
  • Financial health, supply chain due diligence, CO2
How we work
1

Initial assessment

A structured first look on site: quality organisation, audit results, processes and priorities. It creates the basis for joint planning.

2

Monthly support

A fixed monthly volume of days for quality, customer care and business development, with a defined scope and monthly reporting.

3

Projects

Defined projects with a clear scope and handover: audits, field failure cases, supply chain protection, industrialization.

Selected mandates

Three problems, and what was left behind.

Mandate 01 Automotive safety
USD 1.2bn spend

Building a global commodity organisation

Situation
Purchasing ran plant by plant. No separation between plant, project and commodity responsibility, and no single owner for any supplier relationship.
Approach
Designed and rolled out a global commodity structure, classified the supplier base, installed a global sourcing committee, and led thirty commodity buyers through the change.
Result
One consolidated supplier portfolio, binding award governance, and price and contract negotiations steered centrally instead of repeated at every site.
Mandate 02 Group-wide
Metal & plastic parts

Supplier risk and award governance

Situation
No cross-site view of supplier risk. RFQ and award processes differed by plant, and the contract documents differed with them.
Approach
Selected the risk system and designed the process behind it, rolled out a global RFQ platform, and harmonised nomination contracts and NDAs into one standard.
Result
An award trail that survives an audit, and critical suppliers identified while there is still time to act on them.
Mandate 03 Electric parking brake
North American ramp-up

Localising core components on another continent

Situation
Core components shipped from Europe while a US plant ramped up: long lead times, currency exposure, and slow response whenever quality moved.
Approach
Supplier identification and development on the ground — qualification, negotiation and nomination of local sources for the motor-gearbox unit, drive wheel and worm.
Result
A local supply base, materially lower logistics and FX exposure, and issues resolved in hours rather than across a shipping week.

Group-grade procurement, at mid-market scale.

Value 01

Cost you can defend

Cost breakdowns and TCO models, so a price is argued from structure — not from a percentage target handed down by finance.

Value 02

Supply that holds

Risk scoring, second sources and localisation decided before a shortage forces the decision for you.

Value 03

Governance that outlives us

Award rules, contract standards and reporting that keep working after the mandate ends and the team runs it alone.

Value 04

Speed where it counts

A vacancy covered in days. A category strategy in weeks. Neither waits for a hiring process to finish.

Division 03

Commerce

From product to transaction.

Selling is a system: catalogue, pricing, checkout, fulfilment, and the data that connects them. We build that system on Shopify and on B2B platforms, and connect it to the ERP and CRM that already run the business.

Product

Catalogue structure, variants, specifications and pricing logic that hold up in B2B.

Stage 02

Quantity breaks, customer-specific rates, quote requests and tax handling across borders.

Stage 03

Payment, approval routing and a clean handoff into the systems that already run finance.

Stage 04

Fulfilment

Stock sync, documents, shipping and the tracking the customer actually sees.
